Seasave V7, an entirely new version of Seasave, was officially released in 2007. Improvements over the previous Windows versions include:
More robust data acquisition / increased stability with a new architecture for data acquisition.
Note: Seasave V7 is actually two applications -- Seasave.exe automatically launches SeasaveAcq.exe when data acquisition is commanded to start, and both programs run simultaneously on the same computer, communicating via TCP/IP sockets.
Easier-to-use and more intuitive user interface.
Support for transmission of data and remote bottle firing over TCP/IP.
Better graphics, including the ability to have different plot colors for downcast and upcast.
An unlimited number of displays can be active on the desktop at once (within the limitations of your computer's resources). Displays can be added, deleted, and modified without interrupting data acquisition.
Output from an SBE 9plus CTD integrated with an SBE 11plus Deck Unit is now saved as a .hex file (was previously saved as a binary .dat file).
Support for pressure, altimeter, and bottom contact switch alarms in the computer running Seasave.
